I started this blanket quite a while ago at the request of my Princess. She chose the pattern and the colours and I must say I do like it very much. Progress is slow, a little every day and sometimes every other day. I can't wait to finish it, it's my biggest piece of crochet since I started down that happy road.
Six colours only, to keep it simple. The pattern comes from here. I love the little holes that appear at the top.
In between, a little embroidery, just for the fun of it.
Stitching houses, and of course they need flowers.
Nowhere near finished but I'm not in a hurry. It's a welcome diversion from rows of crochet.
Sometimes plain and simple is all I need.

Oh My! What a wonderful piece of crocheted art! And the houses with flowers are so beautiful x
ReplyDeleteHey Liz, love the colours in the rug, they have such a soft, vintage look to them.........
ReplyDeleteThe embroidery is gorgeous and a nice break from the crochet too. Nice to mix it up a bit and have a couple of different projects on the go at one time.....
Have a great weekend ,

Hi Liz - happy new year!
ReplyDeleteLove the colours and love the ripples - I feel like 2012 will be the year I venture into the world of ripply blankets - I'll be turning to you when I can't work out what I'm doing!

Your work is lovely. Thanks for sharing the pattern for the crocheted bowls. I've thought about making some but never found the right pattern, so will definitely be giving them a go. Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteLove the colours in that ripple blanket- very simple but effective.
ReplyDeleteAnd your embroidery is so cute. It's a new craft to me which is on my 'to do' list for this year.
Have a fab weekend.
