A lot from a little

I loved making these paper and fabric lanterns although I did end up with sore fingers sewing through card.  I am not a thimble user, I find them exceedingly uncomfortable.

I spotted the lanterns chez Lola Nova, thought they were magical and had to have a go.  They are quick and easy and so much fun.

I have so many scraps of lace and fabric it was a great way to put them to good use.

I also made this crochet dishcloth in my favourite colour (actually one of my favourites).

The pattern comes from here.

Oh, and I thought I might show you this flower I made up from the paper my market flowers were wrapped in.  It was too nice to go in the bin.

I kind of made it up as I went along.  Not bad, I think.

Have a happy week.

  1. Ooh aI love those lanterns! I remember making lanterns at school - they did not look likes these gorgeous things though!

  2. What a lovely lot of things here - those lanterns are dreamy and the dishcloth looks too good to do the dishes with for sure!

  3. What a lovely way to use up some fabric scraps making those lanterns.
    They look very decorative.........

Shall have to check out the dishcloth pattern, beautiful soft pink you use
and the paper flower looks brilliant. A lovely post..........

Hope you had a great weekend,

I would love it if you would share these photos with the Lola Nova Made by You flickr group here

  5. Hi Liz,
First I want to say I love the Orange and blue on your blog, it's my favorite color combination, and the many variations on that combo. I should use it more in my own art! You have to be daring to add the orange though. Your lanterns are so delicate and wonderful. Great blog!
